A former three-sided farmstead was converted into Krabat’s Neues Vorwerk with funds from the rural development program. Under the direction of the KRABAT Dorfclub & Heimatverein Groß Särchen e.V. and as a project of KRABAT e.V., a clubhouse was built. In addition to the village’s local history association, it will also house a tourist center and regional shop.

In gratitude for his services to the Saxon Electoral Court, Johann von Schadowitz was given an estate (Vorwerk) in Groß Särchen by the father of the Saxon Elector Augustus the Strong as a retirement home.
