KRABAT to romp around
The KRABAT playground was inaugurated on May 20, 2006, in connection with the 5th KRABAT Festival. It was built in Kamenz on the Roter Turm / Schillerpromenade site, on the grounds of the former sausage factory.
The well-known wood designer Jürgen Bergmann, inventor and creator of the Kulturinsel Einsiedel, designed and built the playground with motifs from the Krabat legend. The old mill from Schwarzkollm has been recreated as a play structure, and the twelve ravens have also settled here.
The larger-than-life wooden sculpture of Krabat shows five pigs dancing, which also serve as seats. According to legend, the passing king was so impressed by the enchanted pigs that he took the sorcerer back to his court.
